What a day this was!
Alex and Erika’s wedding was at the wonderful Verona Villa wedding venue in north Dallas, TX. The weather could not have been better. It was sunny and 60 degrees all day long!
When we face-timed with Alex and Erika all those months ago we immediately clicked. We honestly talked for so long about our lives, hobbies, favorite restaurants and everything else before we even got to talking about all the wedding details. Since Alex and Erika live in Washington DC we weren’t able to meet them in person before they booked us. But during the Fourth of July weekend, we were able to meet up for lunch at Cane Rosso in Fort Worth and share some pizza and beer together. It’s like we had been friends all along! It made us even more excited about their wedding day.
On the day of the wedding, everyone was full of anticipation and excitement. The girls were finishing up their makeup and the guys were toasting to the excitement of the day. Erika had her two sisters, Michelle and Christine, along with her beautiful mom to help her in her dress. The perfect window light made for such a calm and surreal place to get ready. Erika had written a note to every single one of her family members for them to read the day of. This reflects, just a little of how thoughtful and kind she is.
These two had the greatest first look! The second Alex saw his bride he fell apart. Her beauty and the love he has for her just overwhelmed him. We love it when it all slows down and the moments are taken in. Emotions come and it’s ok to feel all the feels.
The wedding party was full of FUN and excitement for this couple! They were all about celebrating the day for Alex and Erika well before the reception by just being there for them and shouting for joy that this couple was getting married!
One of the most beautiful moments of the wedding day was during the ceremony. A family tradition they incorporated was to go to each grandparent and set of parents and bow to them to show love and respect. This was an emotional beautiful gesture from the bride and groom. Showing how they know this is about family, legacy, and love through generations.
The golden sunset was unreal! They got all the warm romantic sunshine feel.
And have we mentioned the reception yet?! Everyone was on the dance floor! Everyone was having a blast! Everyone was smiling and celebrating and having the time of their life!
Alex and Erika, we are just so grateful to have photographed you beautiful, thoughtful and loving wedding day! We can’t wait to come visit you in Washington DC sometime soon!
